AMDO Strike: Medical Activities Partially Paralysed in Oyo State

Medical activities were partially paralysed on Monday at government hospitals in Nigeria’s Oyo State as the Association of Medical and Dental Officers of Oyo State (AMDO) began a one-week warning strike. Doctors stayed away from work at several facilities, while emergency patients continued to receive care. AMDO chairman Dr Solomon Olaoye said the strike would run until Sunday night and that demands concerning allowances, salaries and recruitment remained unresolved despite discussions with government authorities.
