Mbour: Fake gendarme sentenced to six months in prison for stabbing fruit seller

A man in his sixties who posed as a gendarme serving at the French Embassy was sentenced to six months in prison by the Mbour Court of First Instance. The dispute began in Saly Portudal when he allegedly claimed to pay for a fruit delivery via Wave but did not transfer the 50,000 CFA francs owed. The next day, seller B. C. went to his home to collect the money and was stabbed in the head during an altercation; she was given seven days of temporary work incapacity. G. K. admitted using the knife but said he was reacting to an assault, a defense the court rejected as it convicted him of intentional assault and battery.
