General Bank of Cameroon: nearly 742 billion FCFA in customer financing by the end of July 2026

As of the end of July 2026, General Bank of Cameroon (GBC) reported 741.9 billion FCFA in customer financing, representing 71% of the 1,045.5 billion FCFA collected in resources. The bank's total balance sheet amounts to 1,398.75 billion FCFA. The financing includes 482.60 billion FCFA in medium-term loans and 131.71 billion FCFA in short-term loans. The bank, which changed its name after the sale of Société Générale's stake, is now majority-owned by the state.
