Young Girls from Kasaï-Oriental Call for an End to Child Marriages

On International Girls' Day, young girls from Kasaï-Oriental, especially in Mbuji-Mayi, called for the protection of their rights and an end to child marriages. Despite awareness campaigns, early marriages still occur in several communities, jeopardizing the futures of many girls. Rebecca Kalubi Kaseya emphasized the need to remind girls of their rights, while Bénédicte Ntendeshi highlighted solidarity and empowerment among young girls. They hope this day will lead to concrete initiatives to prevent early marriages and strengthen girls' rights.
