Born and raised in Treichville, Abidjan, Isaach De Bankolé has become a major figure in African cinema, building a career across Africa, Europe and the United States. He has worked with acclaimed directors including Jim Jarmusch, Lars von Trier and Claire Denis. Minister of Culture and Francophonie Françoise Remarck says the government aims to create a supportive framework for cultural initiatives and work with industry professionals. The effort forms part of the objectives of the National Development Plan through 2030, including providing more opportunities for Ivorian talent.
