Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok Sentenced to One Month in Jail for Contempt of Court

A court in Nakuru sentenced Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok to one month in prison for contempt of court for failing to comply with an order to reinstate 350 employees. County Secretary Simeon Mutai and nine other officials were also sentenced. The governor was not arrested as he was engaged in official duties, including inspections of road projects. This adds to previous legal troubles, as Barchok was charged with corruption in 2025.
