One year after a dramatic strengthening of the Congolese franc in autumn 2025, the currency has stabilized around 2,200 to 2,300 CDF per US dollar, maintaining most of its gains. The appreciation of 34.2% on the official market was linked to prudential measures on foreign currency reserves. As of September 30, 2026, the Central Bank of Congo reports an exchange rate of 2,268.76 CDF per dollar, indicating a positive trend for purchasing power and economic confidence.
