2027: APC NASS members walk tightrope as Tinubu backs govs on primaries

President Bola Tinubu has empowered 31 governors of the APC to decide the fate of aspirants in their states ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a meeting, he reaffirmed his support for allowing states to adopt either consensus or direct primaries in line with the Electoral Act. However, this situation is causing unease among some federal lawmakers, especially those not in good standing with their governors.
