Senegal: Minister of Urbanism Fofana leaves PASTEF – La Nouvelle Tribune

Senegal's Minister of Urbanism, Moussa Bala Fofana, has publicly left the PASTEF party after being reappointed to the new government formed on June 1, 2026 under Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo. His move follows a statement by PASTEF president Ousmane Sonko on June 2 criticizing the defection of several party ministers. Fofana says he made the decision freely and in good conscience, aware that he would lose political allies. Other figures close to PASTEF, such as Yankoba Diémé, Ibrahima Sy, and Abdoul Ahad Ndiaye, were also appointed to the government.
