State Terminates Ksh 700M Thuci Dam PPP Deal With Portuguese Firm

The government has terminated the proposal initiated by the Portuguese firm Elevolution Engenharia, S.A. to develop the Thuci Dam Project in Embu County. The decision was made during the 61st Ordinary Meeting of the Public-Private Partnerships Committee on August 26, 2026, after reviewing a due diligence report. The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has been directed to explore an alternative procurement route for the project, updating feasibility studies and identifying necessary funding.
