Dakar Port: Diomaye appoints Abdoul Hamid Sy of Tivaouane as port executives speak out

Abdoul Hamid Sy has been installed as chairman of the board of the Dakar Autonomous Port after being appointed at the 10 September 2026 cabinet meeting, replacing Mouhamadou Ngouda Mboup. The Port’s association of executives welcomed the internal promotion as a source of pride and recognition of Sy’s career at the institution. Recruited in 2005, he held roles in the Commercial and Communications departments before coordinating strategic partnerships and development. Most recently, he was responsible for monitoring implementation of Senegal’s National Port Strategy.
