Morocco Ranks 105th in RSF’s 2026 World Press Freedom Index

Morocco has moved up 15 places to rank 105th out of 180 in the RSF’s 2026 World Press Freedom Index, with a score of 50.55. While no journalists have been killed or detained in 2026, legal and financial pressures on the media continue. Independent voices exist but are few and often face economic challenges. Legal reforms have not fully eased tensions, and self-censorship remains common among journalists.
