Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party won Armenia's parliamentary election with 49.81% of the vote, according to the Central Election Commission. The Strong Armenia alliance, led by Russian-Armenian billionaire Samvel Karapetyan, came in second with 23.29%. Pashinyan seeks a mandate to reorient the country's geopolitics toward the West and away from Russia, aiming to join the European Union. Turnout exceeded 58% of eligible voters.
