KWS Launches Probe Into Industrial Pollution of Rivers Near Nairobi National Park

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) raised an alarm over suspected chemical contamination in Nairobi National Park, observed on April 30, 2026. Abnormal, foamy water flowing from the Mlolongo drainage corridor raised serious environmental and public health concerns. KWS activated a multi-agency response to assess the situation and advised the public to avoid contact with affected water bodies.
