Tinubu meets service chiefs over worsening insecurity in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on July 9, 2026, to review the country's deteriorating security situation. Attendees included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, and other top officials. The meeting came 48 hours after a military airstrike operation targeted about 300 heavily armed terrorists in Zamfara and Katsina states.
