Land Dispute in Mutengene: Mindcaf Suspends Contested Decision in Favor of CDC

The Minister of Lands, Cadastre and Land Affairs, Henri Eyebe Ayissi, has suspended decree n°00605/Y.7/MINDCAF/SG/D6/S200/S230 from February 19, 2026, which consolidated leases in favor of the Muslim Community of Mutengene. This decision follows incidents at the Esuke plantation, where the CDC reported illegal felling of palm trees. An ad hoc commission will be established to re-examine the land dispute between the two parties, as the CDC condemns acts that undermine its recovery efforts.
