Benue seals two schools over alleged forced purchase of textbooks - Daily Post Nigeria

The Benue State Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board (BEQAEB) has sealed two schools in Makurdi, Orenda and Opal, following complaints from parents about student victimization and the forced purchase of exercise and test books directly from the schools. The Executive Secretary, Dr. Terna Francis, stated that the schools refused to attend to students who had not bought the required books, violating the state's textbook reuse policy. Despite multiple efforts to address the issue through phone calls and meetings, the schools continued the practice, leading to their closure to protect children's rights.
