Nigeria’s democratic progress slow with uneven development – NBA chairman

Paul Azuka, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Asaba Branch, described Nigeria's democratic journey as slow and largely stagnant. He noted that while some sectors have progressed, others have regressed, and electoral reforms appear to be declining due to a culture of individualism. Azuka emphasized that Nigerians are better informed but reluctant to actively drive meaningful change. He stated that the country will continue to make little progress until citizens take center stage in shaping national affairs.
