Ebola in DRC: at least 120 deaths in three months in the Lita area, a count that explains the severity of the epidemic spread in the community

The Lita health zone has reported 224 confirmed cases of Ebola, including 120 deaths and 100 recoveries, since May 18, 2026. Despite health response efforts, community surveillance remains a major challenge, with reported deaths some of which test positive for the virus. Dr. Patience Pasifique emphasized the importance of separating suspected cases from confirmed cases to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
