Casamance: The army destroys cannabis fields, the MFDC more weakened than ever

The Senegalese army has intensified its operations in Casamance, destroying cannabis fields and arresting 14 individuals. This operation, conducted near the Gambian border, also resulted in the seizure of weapons and over six tons of cannabis. The Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance (MFDC), engaged in a struggle for independence since 1982, is now described as 'strongly weakened' by experts.
