Worrying Disappearance in Morocco: Two American Soldiers Missing During African Lion 2026

Two American soldiers participating in the international exercise African Lion 2026 went missing on May 2, 2026, near Cap Draa in the Tan-Tan region. Moroccan authorities and the U.S. Africa Command have initiated search and rescue operations using land, air, and maritime resources. An investigation has also been launched to determine the circumstances of the disappearance. The exercise, which started on May 1, involves nearly 5,000 military personnel from over 40 countries.
