Texas Family Killed in Florida Plane Crash; Co-Pilot Had Texted Her Boyfriend

Nine people were killed when a Learjet 60 traveling from Austin to the Bahamas crashed in Florida, including Texas entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen, their two children, their nanny and two friends. The pilots were 55-year-old Jeff Gregory and Brazilian co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, who reportedly texted her boyfriend, “I’m in turbulence, I’m icing up,” ten minutes before the crash. The aircraft was flying at 35,000 feet near thunderstorm cells in turbulent, freezing conditions; investigators found signs that it broke apart in midair. The cause of the crash in Palm Beach County remains under investigation.
