Ivory Coast: A 14-Year-Old Adolescent Killed in Violent Clashes

A 14-year-old adolescent, Toumani Doumbia, was killed during violent clashes between youth from the Yankafissa and Sokourani neighborhoods in Ivory Coast. The assailants, initially searching for his older brother, attacked him with knives and wooden sticks. The violence peaked on August 21, 2026, the same day a police officer also lost his life. Aboubakar Touré, the president of the communal youth of Odienné, expressed condolences to the family and called for calm.
