Anglican Church rejects Islamisation of Nigeria, Sharia integration

At the 3rd session of the 12th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Calabar, Bishop Nneoyi Onen Egbe firmly rejected any move to Islamise Nigeria and integrate Sharia financial systems into national regulations. He denounced a two-tier nation where elites live in comfort while the masses struggle for survival, criticising leaders who insulate themselves from national problems. The Synod called Christians to return to God and recommended that political appointees come from a college of religious and traditional leaders, emphasising merit over ethnicity.
