'There was plan to assassinate me' – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), alleged that there was a plan to assassinate him in April 2025 when he planned to visit Benue State. He canceled his humanitarian outreach after the state government advised against it, citing a shootout that occurred. He made the allegation at a roundtable in Berlin organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations.
