Mombasa Bans On-Site Mixing of Ballast, Sand and Cement to Mitigate Flooding

Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Nassir announced a ban on mixing sand, ballast, and cement at construction sites starting September 14 to prevent flooding. This decision follows flooding already experienced in parts of Mombasa, disrupting access to roads and dispensaries. Nassir also plans to deploy 3,000 young people to clear drains and support flood prevention efforts.
