Pharmacists under the Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) stated that it is very dangerous for Nigeria to import 70 percent of its medicines. During the 29th annual national conference in Ilorin, NAIP National Chairman Pharmacist Bankole Ezebuilo urged the federal government to support local drug production. He emphasized that Nigeria must choose between continued dependence on imported medicines or pursuing pharmaceutical sovereignty through local production.
