Ebola: Niger screens returning pilgrims, activates emergency preparedness measures

The Niger State government has intensified Ebola surveillance by screening returning pilgrims from Saudi Arabia at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna. Director of Public Health Dr Ibrahim Idris said no pilgrims showed symptoms. The state is preparing to reactivate the Emergency Operations Centre and working with stakeholders to prevent disease importation. The move follows Ebola outbreaks in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
