Professor Chizindu Alikor, the Chief Medical Director of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, described kidney disease as a "global public health emergency" during the inaugural RSUTH Kidney Day. He introduced state-of-the-art renal services, including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and automated peritoneal dialysis. Dr. Eleki Beniboba emphasized the significance of these new services for both adult and pediatric patients, particularly for children with acute kidney injury.
