New developments in Podor murder case: Aminata Sy's eyes removed

The investigation into the murder of high-school student Aminata Sy, whose body was found in a bag in the Lao Demba neighborhood of Podor, is focused on her boyfriend, a shopkeeper who is being actively sought. Investigators have not ruled out a crime with a mystical motive, while reports that the suspect may have left the country remain unconfirmed. Aminata Sy reportedly visited her boyfriend on the day she disappeared, and their relationship was known to people around them. A Saint-Louis research unit is assisting the Podor gendarmerie in an investigation overseen by the public prosecutor.
