Amnesty International urged Nigerian authorities to urgently secure the release of school children abducted in Borno and Oyo States, warning they are at serious risk. The organization stated that attacks on schools and abductions of children are war crimes. It also noted that insecurity has forced many children out of school and displaced teachers. Amnesty called for schools to be safe spaces for learning.
