Two-thirds of South Sudan facing acute famine

Nearly two-thirds of South Sudan's population is facing acute food insecurity, according to the World Food Programme (WFP). Four counties in Jonglei and Upper Nile states are on the brink of famine, with 2.2 million children under five at risk of acute malnutrition. The situation is worsening due to ongoing violence and access restrictions that hinder humanitarian aid delivery.
