Identification of Mbororo: 13,852 migrants identified in three provinces of the DRC (mid-term report)

A total of 13,852 Mbororo migrants have been identified in the provinces of Bas-Uele, Haut-Uele, and Nord-Ubangi, according to a note from Deputy Prime Minister Jacquemain Shabani Lukoo. Teams from the inter-ministerial commission have been deployed on the ground since August 12, 2026, to carry out this operation. However, challenges have been identified, and an evaluation is planned to adapt interventions to the realities of each province. The minister also emphasized the importance of increased involvement from provincial authorities in this process.
