One month of drinking water shortage in Lusambo, housewives exhausted

For nearly a month and a half, residents of Lusambo (Sankuru) have suffered a drinking water shortage after the generator of the REGIDESO secondary center broke down. Housewives walk up to 2 km to fetch water from the Sankuru and Lubi rivers, which is untreated and unsanitary. Denise Nyange, Rebecca Kalanga, and Jacqueline Ngongo Ntambwe testify to their difficulties. Regional director Didier Mbudi Lelo says funds for repair are available. A child has drowned.
