Francophone Electoral Cooperation in Belgium: Benin Speaks on Electoral Roll Management

Benin is actively participating in the 2026 RECEF seminar and general assembly in Namur, Belgium, from June 9 to 12, 2026, focused on 'Electoral Rolls: From Registration to Voting'. Laurentine ADOSSOU, Councillor and Rapporteur of the Electoral Council at the National Independent Electoral Commission (CENA), represents Benin and will deliver a presentation on 'Shared Management of Electoral Rolls in Benin' on June 11. Discussions cover census mechanisms, annual updates of electoral files, and use of civil registries, with experience sharing from countries including Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and France. The RECEF, now fifteen years old, also aims to reconsider the role of gender in its future directions.
