Presidency: Is Atiku still running? Peter hasn’t lied to Nigerians in two days, says Lere Olayinka

Lere Olayinka, special assistant to the FCT minister, asked on X whether African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar was still running in the January 16, 2027 election. He also mocked the fact that Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi had not “lied” to Nigerians for two days. His remarks come as Atiku’s aides criticize President Bola Tinubu over his spiritual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and his entry into the Holy Kaaba. Atiku’s spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, claimed the former vice president financed Tinubu’s first trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
