Appeal Court Upholds Ruling on Zamfara APC Primary

The Court of Appeal in Sokoto dismissed Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura’s appeal and upheld the Federal High Court judgment in Gusau concerning the APC senatorial primary in Zamfara North. The ruling orders the party to hold a fresh primary within 14 days after Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi alleged that the election was not conducted and that the process involved irregularities. The appeals court affirmed the lower court’s jurisdiction and found that the evidence showed non-compliance with APC rules and guidelines. Shinkafi welcomed the decision and urged supporters in four local government areas to continue advocating for equitable political representation.
