Senegal: Ousmane Diagne appointed head of the Constitutional Council

In Senegal, Ousmane Diagne was appointed head of the Constitutional Council by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye via a decree dated July 13. The former Minister of Justice succeeds the late Mamadou Badio Camara. The appointment follows the high court's opinion on the constitutional reform adopted by the National Assembly. For Ousmane Sonko's Pastef party, which initiated the revision, the decision was a setback.
