More than 600,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in China as Typhoon Bavi approaches, after hitting Japan's Sakishima islands and grazing northern Taiwan. Chinese authorities evacuated over 500,000 people in the eastern Zhejiang province and another 100,000 in neighboring Fujian province. The typhoon is expected to make landfall in Wenzhou, a densely populated city in Zhejiang, early Sunday, bringing heavy rains. The national weather agency issued an orange typhoon alert, hundreds of flights have been canceled, and rail and school services have been reduced.
