Apple CEO Tim Cook said that price increases are unavoidable due to rising demand for memory chips driven by the artificial intelligence boom. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he noted that the company tried to shield customers but it became unsustainable. According to research firm TechInsights, Apple may need to raise the price of its iPhone Pro by $270 to maintain its current profit margin. Chip prices have seen quarterly increases of at least 50% since late 2025.
