Gender Commission rescues 8 underage children, detains 3 traffickers in bust of Jos illegal park

The Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission rescued eight underage children and arrested three suspected traffickers following the discovery of an illegal motor park at Zawan Junction, Jos South LGA. Commission Chairperson Dazyam said the park operated on Tuesdays and Thursdays, transporting passengers to Ibadan. The children were being recruited for mining labor.

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has raised concerns over a resurgence of wildlife poaching and trafficking in Cross River State, Nigeria.
