Cameroon: What to Know About the New Tax Rules for Decentralized Local Authorities

The Ministries of Finance and Decentralization issued a joint statement clarifying the only fees that municipalities and urban communities can collect directly, including public domain occupancy fees, slaughter fees, and market taxes. No unauthorized taxes can be demanded. The government is preparing to modernize revenue collection with digital tools and centralization of local revenues.
