Madiambal Diagne wants to return to Senegal and accuses former government of unjust prosecution

Journalist Madiambal Diagne, living in France after leaving Senegal over security concerns, says he wants to return to his family and hopes to receive fair treatment from the courts. He accuses Ousmane Sonko, Bamba Cissé and Yassine Fall of seeking to prosecute him unjustly; a request to cancel the international arrest warrant against him has been scheduled for consideration. The Network of Whistleblowers is seeking explanations about his claims, including an alleged search at Sonko’s apartment in Cité Senegindia and sums of money reportedly seized. Diagne also criticizes the finance committee’s rejection of the revised finance bill and urges President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to dissolve the National Assembly.

The measures are framed as support for the peace agreements signed by Kinshasa and Kigali on December 4, 2025, and for stability in the Great Lakes region.
