Energy: $900 million for clean cooking technologies

African countries secured $900 million in new financial commitments to expand access to clean cooking technologies, replacing polluting fuels with ethanol, biogas, and electricity. These funds add to the $2.2 billion raised at the first African Clean Cooking Summit in Paris in 2024, bringing total commitments to over $3.1 billion. The announcement was made during a virtual meeting organized by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and Kenya.
