The hearing scheduled for June 5, 2026 before the CRIET in the case of the young woman tortured by fire in Ekpè was adjourned to June 19. The postponement was granted at the request of a defense lawyer absent from Benin. The civil party must produce the victim's medical consolidation certificate. The six accused, including Sossou Kouassi Mardochée and Agbozo Julien, remain in pretrial detention since April 29, 2026.
