The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) raised diesel prices by Ksh46.29 to Ksh242.92 per litre and petrol by Ksh16.65 to Ksh214.25 in Nairobi. Consequently, some matatu operators, such as Super Metro, have already increased their fares, with the route from Nairobi CBD to Westlands rising from Ksh40 to Ksh50. Motorists rushed to fill up at fuel stations before the new prices took effect, leading to long queues in several cities.
