Angola and DR Congo Move Forward With Africa's Largest Electricity Interconnection Project

Congolese Minister of Water Resources and Electricity, Molendo Sakombi, announced that Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo will build a 1,450-kilometer electricity transmission line linking Malanje to Fungurume. Valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, the project aims to meet the immediate energy needs of the Congolese population, estimated at around 100 million inhabitants. It also includes a second transmission line to supply 2,000 megawatts to the DRC.
