FG allocates new crude oil terminals to Swede Control Intertek

The Nigerian government, through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has announced the allocation of the Cawthorne and Okwok crude oil terminals to Swede Control Intertek Limited. This move aims to improve efficiency and transparency in crude oil export operations. In April 2025, the CBN had restructured terminal allocations to pre-shipment inspection agents.

Zakhem seeks Sh10.9bn from KPC on pipeline project delays

Lebanese contractor Zakhem International Construction Limited has moved to court seeking more than Sh10.9 billion from Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) over delays in the Mombasa–Nairobi petroleum pipeline project. The project, announced in 2013 and launched in 2015, was initially scheduled for completion within 18 months but took 21 months. Zakhem attributes the delays to KPC's alleged non-compliance with National Construction Authority requirements, delayed approvals, and external obstructions. The contractor claims it performed its obligations but was hindered by KPC's actions and omissions.

FG eyes 40m homes, N600bn as digital switch over takes off

The Nigerian Federal Government has launched the Digital Switch Over programme, targeting 40 million homes and unlocking over N600 billion in economic value. The launch in Abuja featured Minister of Communications Bosun Tijani and NBC Director-General Charles Ebuebu. Tijani highlighted the project includes 90,000 km of fiber optic expansion and satellite deployment to improve connectivity. Ebuebu said the program will democratize access to information and stimulate investment in the broadcasting value chain.
