Burkinabe football in mourning: Ben Aziz Zagré dies at 27, the Stallion left too soon

Ben Aziz Zagré, a 27-year-old Burkinabe international, died on June 8, 2026 from cancer discovered after a leg operation. He played for several clubs, including Esbjerg fB, Vitória Guimarães B, AD Fafe, AS Vita Club, Kaysar, and Shinnik Yaroslavl. He made his national team debut on February 27, 2016 against Egypt. The Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) announced his death with 'deep consternation' and offered condolences.
