Taraba ASUU Maintains Total, Indefinite Strike, Bans Online and In-Person Lectures

The ASUU branch at Taraba State University is maintaining the indefinite strike it began on October 12, 2026, and has ordered members to stop all teaching and academic supervision, including online lectures, project supervision and teaching practice. Branch chairperson Dr. Garba Mbave Joshua said the action would continue until negotiations with the government produced concrete progress. The union said there had been no meaningful engagement and urged members to rely on official communications, remain united and resist intimidation. The strike concerns, among other issues, implementation of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement and salary arrears dating back to January 2026; it has disrupted university activities, including examinations.
